Conference visa
requirements have been updated. In addition
to the previous requirements, each of the
following items are now required:
1.
Ministry of Home Affairs Clearance:
A clearance letter from the Ministry
of Home Affairs.
2. Ministry of External Affairs Clearance:
A clearance letter from the Ministry
of External Affairs.
3. State Government/UT Clearance: A
clearance letter from the State Government/Union
Territories.
4. Nodal Ministry Clearance: A clearance
letter from the Ministry that holds
jurisdiction over the conference. Example,
an education conference needs a clearance
letter from the Ministry of Education.
In the case that the conference/seminar/workshop
is being organized in India by private companies
the applicant should apply for the shortest
duration Business visa available. If approved,
a 3 month single entry Business visa will
be granted.
Starting
January 16, 2006 you must provide
copy of Drivers license or Utility
bill for the Consulate General of
India. JURISDICTION
of the Consulate General of India, New York
extends to the following states:
Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, SanFranciso,
Chicago, Houston and the Virgin Islands.

Tourist
and Business Visa requirements:

Visa
Application applicable for following jurisdictions;
New York, Washington DC, SanFranciso, Chicago,
and/or Houston. All application field's
must be filed as well as jurisdiction. The
application must be printed on two separate
pages, they will no longer accept it if front
and back on one sheet of paper.
As
of Monday, January 25, 2010,
any application that does not contain 39 questions
will need to have the supplemental Additional
Information form. Click

Information form. In some cases the consulates
are requesting this form for older applications
that were already submitted. This has been
on a case by case basis, but we do expect
to see more of this. Most applications are
now arriving with the 39 question form as
it has been in circulations for several days
now.
