Tourist and Business Visa Requirements
 
 
Travel notes:
 
Us passport must be signed, valid for at least 6 months and with at least 2-3 blank visa pages not amendment pages in passport. If your passport does not meet the requirements, we can assist with obtaining new passport, passport renewal or add additional pages for a valid US passport.
Application forms may be duplicated on plain paper but must be clear copies with original signature.
Please note this visa requirements are for US citizens only. If you are not a US citizen please contact our office at (914) 592-2760.
As of November 29, 2007 JIDS can only handle visas for Brazil within these jurisdictions: Call Just-In Document Inc if you do not fall under these states. If you are outside the NY jurisdiction please allow extra time for mailing to Washington or Houston.
The Consulate General of Brazil in New York serves the residents of the following states:
Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Bermuda Islands.
The Brazilian Consular Service in Washington, D.C. serves the residents of the following states:
District of Columbia, States of Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
Consulate General of Brazil in Houston (click here for application form) serves the residents of the following states:
Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
lumbia, States of Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
If you live outside of the jurisdiction, the visa issued will be valid for 3 months instead of 5 years visa. If you notify Just-In Document that a 5 years visa is required we can contact the consulate within your jurisdiction.
As of September 2008, The Consulate is only accepting applications with proof of travel within three weeks. Changes are happening in the future with Electronic visas, we will advise as soon as we know the circumstances.

For travelers six months of age and older, Brazil’s Ministry of Health strongly recommends a Yellow Fever vaccination at least 10 days prior to arrival to the following regions: all the states of the Northern Midwestern regions and Maranhão and Minas Gerais, the regions southwest of Piauí, west of Bahia, west of Parana, west of Santa Catarina, northwest of Rio Grande do Sul and northwest of São Paulo.

 
Technical Visa note:

Engineers or any individuals conducting technical services must provide additional information for a technical visa.

For technical visa, an invitation from the host company in Brazil. Invitation for Technical visa must come directly from ministry in Brazil, two passport type photograph, two application forms and two business letters are required.
These visas are limited and we advise calling our office for further details. Any business letters written to the Brazilian consulate must include details of what the business meeting are about.

Passport and Visa are required.

 

Tourist and Business Visa requirements:
 
Valid, signed US passport.

One Visa Application (for New York) or Visa Application (for Washington DC) Form completed and signed.

Please note that you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 3 or higher to view the form.
Photo copy of drivers license.
One passport type photograph.
Copy of flight itinerary.
Visa Order Form.
If travel is for business please include a business letter of responsibility, click for Sample business letter.
For business letter please note the following:
 
  • This letter must be on your company letterhead.
  • This letter must be sign by someone other than the applicant.

    Health Requirements:
     
    International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required ONLY if visited Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru or other infected areas in the past 6 months.
     
    Fees and processing time:
     
      Consular fee and processing time: (consular fees may change) Visa must be used within 90 days from date of issue.
    Please note Consular Fees- A $5.00 money order fee will be charged unless a money order for the exact amount ex. 140.00 tourism, 200.00 business. THE MONEY ORDER MUST BE A POST OFFICE MONEY ORDER ONLY WITH THE RECEIPT ATTACHED, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER MONEY ORDERS. Money order must be made out to Consulate General of Brazil, all other payments for Just-In Document Service, Inc. must be paid separately.
    $ 140 Per Tourist Visa 4 business days MINIMUM processing time.
    $ 200 Per Business Visa 4 business days MINIMUM processing time.

    Shipping fees:
     
    Add $17 for weekday ($27.75 for Saturday) to the service fee for overnight return of your passport OR include a prepaid FEDEX airbill. Please note A $5.00 fee will be added if airbill for overnight services is not included.
    Use Federal Express, Airborne, UPS, or DHL Priority overnight for delivery by 10:30 AM to ship all your passport application materials to:
