Austria
Tourist and Business Visa Requirements
 
 
Travel notes:
 
Us passport must be signed, valid for at least 6 months and with at least 2-3 blank visa pages not amendment pages in passport. If your passport does not meet the requirements, we can assist with obtaining new passport, passport renewal or add additional pages for a valid US passport.
Application forms may be duplicated on plain paper but must be clear copies with original signature.

Entry requirements:
 
Tourist/Business visa is required for over 90 days stay.

 
Tourist and Business Visa requirements:
 
Valid, signed US passport (6 months validity).
Please note Non US citizens must apply in person
Two Visa Application Form completed and signed.
Please note that you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 3 or higher to view the form.
Two passport type photograph.
Copy of flight itinerary and airline tickets.
Visa Order Form.
If travel is for tourism or if no invitation due to conference the following are required:
 
  • A hotel reservation/confirmation of tour.
  • Proof of Health insurance/or travel and accident insurance (ORIGINAL) with coverage in this country for a minimum coverage of 37,000.
  • Original and copy of last two bank statements and or proof of sufficient funds for your stay in country with dollar amount average $1500 - $2000 per day in account are required.
  • Original Letter of employment.
If travel is for visiting family or friends the following are required:
 
  • Original proof of US status is also required for non US Citizens.
  • Original notarized letter of invitation (“Verpflichtungserklarung).
  • Proof of registration of your host with police in Austria (“Meldezettel”).
  • Original bank statement of proof of income of your host in Austria. Xerox copy of host passport (photo and visa pages).
  • Visas must be done for any other countries to be visited before submitting to Austrian consulate.

If travel is for business please include a bank statement or business letter of responsibility in addition to invitation letter from the Austrian host company, click for Sample business letter.
 
  • Original or notarized excerpt of official registry of companies in Austria (“Auszug aus Firmenregister).
  • If attending school, Letter of Admission to Austrian School/university.
For business letter please note the following:
 
  • This letter must be on your company letterhead.
  • This letter must be sign by someone other than the applicant.

    Health Requirements:
     
    Vaccinations are NOT required unless travel is from or through an infected area.
    A proof of medical insurance with legible policy number (must show coverage in Austria).

    $ 27.50 Per Tourist/Business Visa 3-4 business days MINIMUM processing time/Single entry 30 days stay.
    $ 33 Per Tourist/Business Visa 3-4 business days MINIMUM processing time/Single entry 90 days stay.
    $ 38.50 Per Tourist/Business Visa 3-4 business days MINIMUM processing time/Multiple entries 90 days stay.
    $ 11 Per Transit Visa 3-4 business days processing time.
